For you, 3 new features:
The month of March is also the municipal elections (15 & 22 March), an opportunity to share with you our thoughts on the Festival, Culture and the local debate.
The celebration is political in its essence, it brings people together beyond representations and prejudices and it allows communities, which are still very much invisible, to resume their legitimate place. Our local (as well as national) policies must include Culture and the Festive not as a separate sector but as an active part of our City. Culture is emerging as a structuring issue in democratic debate.
In the run-up to elections and possible changes in cultural policies, culture in all its forms must not leave the political debate. In a context of fiscal restraint, culture should not be sacrificed; it embodies a strength and a true democratic, social and territorial pillar.
Karmen Camina has always aimed to offer a place of refuge, a place out of time, but Karmen Camina is not out of reality. Our future in our city is, as in many other places, subject to municipal decisions. This place is not eternal but together we can ensure that it is present for a few more years.
